Irish Hares
I love doing crafts and am always experimenting with different types. One of my latest projects is sewing Irish Hares.
I worked as a seamstress at a sewing factory in Dublin, Ireland, for almost three years from the age of 15. I didn’t sew for enjoyment; it was just a way to make a living. Fast forward to a couple of years ago when I saw a pattern for an Irish Hare from CraftyKooka, a business owned by an Irish designer who sells his patterns on Etsy. I made the first hare for a great-nephew, fell in love with it, and made a couple dozen more—each with its own outfit, style and personality. (I used remnant fabrics headed for the landfill for the hares’ outfits.) Since creating the first hare, I have rediscovered a passion for sewing. I’ve made more than 30. Here are a few of them:
